MUSIC HUB

AMBASSADORS

Music Hub Ambassadors is the inclusive youth board for Cornwall’s Music Education Hub, ASONE. Through this board, the Hub wants to work in closer partnership with young people.

We are looking for 10 new members for 2023-24.

You will meet 7 times across the year (in person and online), working as a team to inform the work of the Music Hub (Travel bursaries are available).

You will learn lots of new musical and personal skills in: Agency; Team Building; Composition; Presentation/Communication; Leadership; and Research

This is YOUR music, YOUR hub, and we want YOUR help to shape its future!

We welcome applicants with a broad range of musical skills and abilities from all backgrounds.

If you want to apply to be a Youth Ambassador it's easy! Just complete the short form below.

NOMINATIONS AND APPLICATION PROCESS

Young people can complete the application themselves (with or without help) or they can be nominated by an adult who can complete the form on their behalf.

If you need the form in a different format or need to submit your application in a different way (e.g. short video) please let us know!

If you are an adult nominating a young person you will need to confirm that you have both their permission and the permission of their carer/parent.

We are looking for up to 10 young people.

Deadline for nominations is Friday 24th February. A special selection panel made up of adults and young people will review all the nominations and choose who to select. We will let you know by mid-March if you have been successful.

Who is the Youth Ambassadors Programme for?

The youth ambassadors scheme is for young people based anywhere in Cornwall aged 13-17 years old who:

  1. Have a passion for music (you don't need to be playing an instrument or singing regularly but we would love to hear about this if you do!)

  2. Aspire to make a difference and share their ideas

  3. Want to make friends, learn new skills and develop their confidence

In your application you will be asked 3 things:

  • Why you (or the young person you are nominating) would make a good music youth ambassador and how you think you/they will benefit from taking part.

  • What interests you (them) about music.

  • Details of any challenges or barriers you (they) have experienced to music making in Cornwall.

For more information or to discuss your application please contact Loveday - loveday@musicforgood.uk or join us at our online information event 5pm on Tuesday 7th February (this will also be recorded and posted here after the event).
